This golden Hector Giacomelli design was created for the cover of L’Insecte , an 1875 book by Jules Michelet. A French engraver and illustrator, Giacomelli was highly sought after for his artistic ornamentations. Originally etched in gold on a cloth cover, our Les Papillons cover reflects his passion for the natural world.
